Levi Dinkin
Artist Statement
In this body of work, I use portraiture as a vehicle for deep connection. Sitting face to face for extended periods of time, intimacy has become inevitable. Portrait painting, for me, creates a reciprocal space where the subject and artist can experience one another. The goal is to convey a togetherness in solitude. I approach this work through a feeling sensation rather than a thinking function, and strive to ask how we can make each other feel through unfiltered care. Anyone moment could live in our memory forever, I make sure these sessions do by documenting them honestly.
