UEP's Commitment to a Just World

We first and foremost acknowledge that we at the University of Colorado occupy the ancestral lands of a number of indigenous nations, including the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute peoples. We’re committed to understanding how this acknowledgement interweaves with our learning and understanding of ourselves, our identities, our positionalities, and our relationships.

We believe that we’re all connected, and that relationships matter. In the spirit of inquiry, understanding, and the building of relationships, we’re committed to exploring our individual and collective social identities and histories. We promote education for action, so that we may all be part of the healing of historical and ongoing injustices. We want to make our campus, home communities, and world a place where everyone feels welcome and can thrive. We pledge to not shy away from difficult conversations and to keep learning individually and collectively for the betterment of our campus and our world.
