Julie Waggoner has been working to connect the Leeds School of Business with the sustainable business community since 2018, serving as the Associate Director prior to taking over the Center's leadership as Interim Director in 2020. She is passionate about helping students discover how they can use business skills to make a positive difference in the world, and about supporting faculty research driving DEI and sustainability forward. While serving with CESR, she has led the creation of the Natural & Organic and Clean Energy MBA Pathways, the expansion of the Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility executive education program, and initiatives to expand CESR's relationships with community partners, as well as to connect with diverse business communities. She was a leading contributor to a research project supporting B Lab’s SDG Action Manager, a corporate sustainability management tool that helps companies track their contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, for which CESR won the first-ever Best for Colorado Collaborative Award from The Alliance Center.Ìý
Julie’s background includes agency-side digital marketing, work at the International Chamber of Commerce and the OECD in Paris, engaging with consumers in the natural products industry, and teaching English in France and South Korea. She graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA with a B.A. in journalism and French.ÌýJulieÌýgrew up inÌýBoulder andÌýholds anÌýMBAÌýfocused in sustainability and a Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from the Leeds School of Business.
