Joint Boards
The purpose of the board is to enhance the role of the in providing strong support for students and student organizations through advisement, skill development and utilization of the best practices in higher education. It is also the purpose of the board to assist the CSI in becoming an engaging and inclusive environment through programs, activities and training that help connect students to campus. The board reviews and approves existing and proposed policies to enhance this statement of purpose. The board develops, in cooperation with the director of the CSI, long-range goals and short-term objectives, which provide the operational framework of the CSI. The board reviews, recommends and approves the allocations of resources and the implementation of any services, programs or activities it deems necessary to achieve the goals and objectives of the CSI. As a unit within the Division of Student Affairs, CSI is a multifaceted team working together to support students and student groups. We create an engaging and inclusive environment that promotes leadership development, cultural awareness and community involvement to help students find their passion and their place.

The actively governs the UMC on behalf of CUSG. The board is composed of eight students, four faculty and staff, and several ex-officio/non-voting members who work with the UMC executive director to ensure the UMC fulfills its mission of providing programs, facilities and educational opportunities to enrich the campus experience for the CU Boulder community. The UMC Board creates policy, develops creative solutions to challenging issues and fosters leadership skills.

The Cultural Events Board aims to broaden cultural knowledge by supporting the voices of underrepresented and misrepresented groups on campus, thereby promoting student engagement with their platforms. The Cultural Events Board encourages opportunities for interaction among students resulting in respect, appreciation and understanding for cultural differences.
The works in conjunction with student and professional staff to reflect the needs of CU students within the Volunteer Resource Center. Board members have an immediate impact on both the projects and events of the VRC. They vote and advise on decisions made within the VRC and are involved in the oversight and vote on the VRC’s annual budget.

The Finance Board is the board authorized by the Legislative Council to review quarterly and annual reports of student fee-funded cost centers. The Finance Board maintains oversight of the three main reserve accounts:
- Supplemental operating reserve
- Supplemental large capital reserve
- Supplemental small capital reserve
In addition, the Finance Board holds the ability to approve withdrawals from each cost center’s fund balance. The board’s primary responsibility is to review all budget requests before passing on recommendations to CU Student Government’s Legislative Council during the annual budget process. At the end of each quarter, the Finance Board will hear quarterly reports presented by each cost center.
is a joint board of students and non-students consisting of nine members operating under the authority of CUSG. One of the most important roles of the Recreation Board is to act as a policy setting body that works toward promoting the improvement of the Recreation Center and the university community through planning and positive action. The Recreation Board reports to the Legislative Council. The Student Recreation Center is a CUSG cost center and funded by student fees.

Distinguished Speakers Board (DSB) is a diverse board of students whose mission is to bring speakers of the highest caliber, who will intellectually stimulate the student body and the surrounding community. Ultimately, they aim to inspire people by bringing some of the world’s greatest minds to CU Boulder.

helps CU students make the Boulder campus a greener, more socially just place by overseeing the activities, budget and programs of the nation’s largest student-run environmental center. As the board of the Environmental Center, a CUSG cost center, they work directly with students and administrators to catalyze change. The Environmental Board advises campus recycling and zero waste, instilling energy conservation habits through outreach and developing and expanding sustainable transportation. They administer the Sustainable CU fund which supports student-led, innovative capital projects that promote sustainability on the CU campus.
