Kathryn E. Wiley is a Faculty Fellow at the °µÍø½ûÇø School of Education. She is an expert in education policy and school discipline. She uses multiple methods and a historical lens to understand contemporary education policies in the context of longstanding, racialized inequalities. Her research has appeared in theÌýAmerican Educational Research Journal, American Journal of Education, Educational Administration Quarterly, Education Finance and Policy,ÌýandÌýEvidence and PolicyÌýand has been featured inÌýChalkbeatÌýandÌýBoulder Weekly. Prior to joining the School of Education, she conducted research with theÌýUniversity of Denver-Denver Public Schools Researcher-Practitioner Partnership on School Discipline.ÌýFindings from her recent study on in-school suspension will soon be available in The Urban Review and Race Ethnicity and Education.ÌýShe was a recipient of aÌýNational Academy of Education/Spencer Dissertation Fellowship and a °µÍø½ûÇø Dissertation Fellowship and has since served as PI and co-PI on grants from the Spencer Foundation and the University of Denver. She has aÌýPhD in Educational Foundations, PolicyÌýand Practice from the °µÍø½ûÇø. She is from Dayton, Ohio and is proud of her Sinclair Community College and Wright State University roots.
