Cay Leytham-Powell, the Director of Communications in the Graduate School, first came to the °µÍø½ûÇø in 2015 as a graduate student herself. With undergraduate degrees in biology and environmental studies, and a master's degree in mass communication, she has worked in a variety of roles over the years, from environmental educator to science journalist. In 2017, Cay joined the °µÍø½ûÇø as a staff member working in the College of Arts and Sciences. There, she was their manager for editorial communications and the managing editor for the Colorado Arts and Sciences magazine before moving to the Graduate School in 2022.

In this role, Cay serves as the first point of contact regarding all communications matters for the school, including news and event coverage, handling media requests, social media promotion, newsletters to students and alumni/donors, and executive communications planning.
