The next UNA-BC meeting will be held on Friday October 25 at 3:00 p.m. in the Boulder Creek Room of the Boulder Public Library. The featured presenter is Professor Francisco Rodriquez, the Rice Family Professor of the Practice of International and Public Affairs at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver. The topic of his talk is “The Collapse of Venezuela: Scorched Earth Politics and Economic Decline, 2012-2020” which is also the .

Professor Rodriquez received his PhD in economics from Harvard University, and has taught at the University of Maryland at College Park, the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA), and Wesleyan University. He also served as the Head of several international organizations, including the Economic and Financial Advisory of the Venezuelan National Assembly (2000-2004), the Research Team of the United Nations’ Human Development Report Office (2008-2011) and as the Chief Andean Economist of Bank of America (2011-2016).
