Project Description:

The Virasoro vertex algebra arises as the symmetry algebra of a two-dimensional conformal field theory. The Virasoro irreducible modules are well-known, and they play a prominent role in rational conformal field theories. In the non-semisimple setting (also known as irrational) the Virasoro algebra admits indecomposable non-irreducible modules. The goal of this project is to understand and describe the structure of the indecomposable modules for the Virasoro vertex algebra induced from its level zero Zhu algebra. We will work to give a detailed description of these modules and to illustrate their graded characters.
