Roser Piano and Keyboard Program
Welcome to the Roser Piano and Keyboard Program at the College of Music!
We are home to passionate educators and performers skilled in all facets of keyboard study, including solo performance, pedagogy, collaborative piano, chamber music, organ, harpsichord, literature, jazz performance and improvisation.
Our department features internationally recognized faculty uniquely equipped to provide a strong education to keyboardists of all kinds. Recently we have had the pleasure of hosting guest artists such as Margo Garrett, Victor Rosenbaum, Kevin Kenner and Anton Nel for master classes and performances. Undergraduate students may choose to pursue BA, BM or BME degrees. MM and DMA degree programs include extensive and individually considered requirements in repertoire, recitals and research work.
Becky Roser and the Roser Piano and Keyboard Program
In April 2017, longtime College of Music supporter and former Music Advisory Board Chair Becky Roser endowed the Roser Piano and Keyboard Program. With her gift, Roser paved the way for the keyboard area to offer more support for students and guest artist opportunities. Roser, who herself has played piano since she was a young girl, says the gift helps all areas of the college. “The piano traverses all areas. It’s pervasive in the education of all our students, whether they’re choral or instrumental or composition. So in a way, this is helping everybody,” Roser says.
