For my capstone project, I created a sequence of 5 colleges that share a common motif of social media in contrast with actuality. I've always relished collaging and sensed that this medium could effectively express how my brain works in a visual meaning.

This piece depicts a young womanÌýstanding confidently, wearing a bright smile and a heart-shaped emblem on her sleeve. The composition of the image is centered on the girl, but the shadows in the background serve to enhance the overall theme of the piece.
The shadows appear to support the girl, but they are also symbolic of the hidden parts of her personality that are not immediately visible. The image conveys a sense of mystery and intrigue, getting the viewer to look deeper and consider the different aspects of human emotions.
The heart on the girl's sleeve serves as a focal point. The girl's smile and confident pose suggest she is comfortable revealing her emotions, but the shadows in the background remind her that there is always more to a person than meets the eye.
The artwork in question features a young girl who, at first glance, appears to be content and at ease. However, upon closer inspection, the viewer can discern the complexities beneath the surface.
The girl is depicted spoon-feeding herself beads, symbolic of the various antidepressants she has tried to ease her mental health struggles. This imagery speaks to the ongoing battle many individuals face in their quest for wellness as they navigate treatments and medications available to them.
In addition to this striking central image, the artwork also features a series of quotes woven throughout the girl's hair.Ìý
