Short-term volunteer opportunitiesÌý
Are you interested in volunteering but don’t have the time to commit to ongoing or long-term projects? The VRC can link you to one-time or short-term options.Ìý
CU in the CommunityÌýoffers one-time volunteer projects with local nonprofit organizations. The projects do not require training or special skills. After you sign up, you’ll receive detailed information about the plan for the day. Transportation and food are provided. CU in the Community offers students an excellent opportunity to give back to the community, explore volunteering and build valuable skills.
Long-term volunteer opportunitiesÌý
Would you like to commit to a long-term volunteer experience or an ongoing program? The VRC supports students seeking an expanded commitment.Ìý
°Õ³ó±ðÌýVolunteer Placement ProgramÌýconnects students with community nonprofit organizations needing ongoing support. The VRC matches students with an organization based on the interests and skills indicated in their application. The volunteers commit to three service hours each week or 30 hours over the semester. Students receive coaching and support from the VRC during their program participation.ÌýÌý

School break volunteer opportunitiesÌý
Are you interested in an alternative to the traditional college break?ÌýThe Alternative Breaks programÌýsends teams of college students to engage in meaningful service over breaks from school.ÌýÌý
The spring break program offers various week-long volunteer opportunities in locations across the United States. Students travel together and work with a local organization to support a need in their community. Participants can gain experience, build skills and meet new people.Ìý
You can also support hurricane relief in Florida during Alternative Winter Break, Jan. 8-12.Ìý

Group volunteer opportunitiesÌý
Do you have a group or team that wants to volunteer together? The VRC can connect you to an event or organization that needs your help. Volunteering works well as a team-building activity, to meet required service hours or to learn new skills.Ìý
You mayÌýemail the VRC to schedule an appointmentÌýwith a staff member. Determine the number of participants, available dates and transportation for the group before the meeting. We’ll then explore ideas and discuss the project details.

Do you have a passion for volunteering and want to enhance your leadership skills? The VRC offers many ways forÌýstudents to gain leadership skills and experience. Students can apply for different roles based on their interests and availability.Ìý

Attend the VRC open houseÌý
Join the VRC for a casual open house to highlight their work and progress over the last 58 years and learn about their plans for the future. The event gives students the chance to learn more about the VRC, meet new people and share in the inspiring work the VRC has been able to do in conjunction with the CU community and local partners in service.ÌýÌýÌý
The open house is Friday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Memorial Center, Room 458. Light refreshments will be served.Ìý
