Corporex, Bank One's Colorado Commercial Real Estate Group and GE Real Estate have donated $13,500 to establish a scholarship to the CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business.
L.C. Fulenwider Inc., Milender White Construction and Pahl Pahl Pahl Architects-Planners also contributed to the scholarship fund.
The scholarship will be awarded to a student from the Denver Public School District to attend the Leeds School.
Beginning in the fall semester of 2003, the scholarship will pay all tuition and fee costs until the award is exhausted. To receive the scholarship, the student must demonstrate a significant financial need, a strong academic history and an ambitious collegiate agenda.
The deadline to apply is April 30.
"We are honored at the generosity shown by Corporex and the other donors," said Leeds School Dean Steven Manaster. "Their willingness to give back to the communities in which they live, work and do business aligns well with the Leeds School's goal of connecting with the community."
To demonstrate financial need, students are required to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, available at .
Academic history will be reviewed based on high school transcripts and two teacher recommendations. Students also are required to write a 300-word essay describing their desire to attend college and their post-collegiate ambitions.
To remain eligible for the scholarship, students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and be enrolled for 15 credit hours or more.
