The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments at the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law on Jan. 12 in the Lindsley Memorial Courtroom from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Students will be able to hear oral arguments in six cases. After the arguments have been heard, students will be given the opportunity to ask the judges questions.

Presiding over the hearing will be the honorable Timothy M. Tymkovich, a 1982 graduate of the CU law school appointed to the bench in April 2003, the honorable Carlos F. Lucero and the honorable Robert F. Blackman.

Also, from noon to 12:45 p.m. the law school's Career Services Office will co-sponsor a brown bag lunch for students featuring a panel of judges and clerks who will talk about the judicial process and hiring for clerkships.

The 10th Circuit is second in authority only to the U.S. Supreme Court. It hears appeals in all federal cases from Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas.
