The Women's Resource Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder will host its fifth annual retiree banquet and silent auction fundraiser March 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the University Memorial Center, room 235.

Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for others. Those who wish to attend should call for reservations because a limited number of tickets will be sold.

The center also is calling for silent auction donations including artwork and other items or services. Deadline for donations is March 29.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the center's expanding lending library of periodicals, books, videotapes, DVDs and audiotapes, all available for checkout by students and members of the CU-Boulder community. The library serves as a valuable resource for information about the multiple identities of women and the multitude of issues affecting their lives.

The Women's Resource Center strives to provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere for all people to network, build community and gain strength from one another. From a lens of gender equity and social justice, it advocates for people of all genders, backgrounds, races, classes, ages, sexual orientations, political and religious beliefs, ethnicities, nationalities and abilities.

People on campus who know of an upcoming retirement are asked to contact the center's office manager, Lolly Gold, at (303) 492-2703, Lolly.Gold@colorado.edu.
