Local students were among the 5,464 students who received degrees May 6 during spring commencement ceremonies on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus.
Two students were honored with the Chancellor's Recognition Award for receiving all As in their college careers. They were Jesse Lefcourt of Boulder, who received a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, and Janna Martinek of Lafayette, who received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
Outstanding graduates named by the schools and colleges for the spring 2005 commencement were Ithiel James Llego Frame of Grand Junction, College of Music, bachelor's degree in music; Cynthia Schultz of Boulder, College of Architecture and Planning, bachelor's degree in planning; John Iman of Centennial, Leeds School of Business, bachelor's degree in finance; Ryan W. Gardner of Parker, College of Engineering and Applied Science, bachelor's degrees in computer science and mathematics.
Also named as outstanding graduates were Suzette Veeman of Loveland, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, bachelor's degree in advertising; Nicole Loya of South Gate, Calif., School of Education, bachelor's degree in English, diploma in education (certificate program); and Kristen Gillmon of Estes Park, College of Arts and Sciences, bachelor's degree in astronomy.
