While transfer students began moving in on Monday, Aug. 15, most incoming University of Colorado at Boulder freshmen will move into campus residence halls on Tuesday, Aug. 16, starting at 8 a.m. and Thursday, Aug. 18, starting at 9 a.m.

Each residence hall has a staggered move-in schedule to ease traffic congestion.

Housing staff and volunteers will be present at three welcome tents during the move-in period. The tents will be located at Williams Village, Kittredge Commons and north of Regent Hall between Cheyenne Arapaho and Willard halls. Staff at the tents will provide information to students and families from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 16 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 18.

On Aug. 16-17, residence halls will organize evening social activities including night hikes, Frisbee golf and volleyball games.

Next week, the 12th annual Multicultural Fall Welcome Gathering will be held Aug. 22 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Observatory Field between the Leeds School of Business and Fiske Planetarium. Volunteers will serve free food and promote interaction between students, faculty and staff of all backgrounds. The gathering is made possible by the CU-Boulder Center for Multicultural Affairs.
