University of Colorado at Boulder graduate student Saqib bin Sohail, of Pakistan, is coordinating a drive to collect winter clothing, blankets and tents for victims of the Oct. 8, 7.6-magnitude earthquake, which has left thousands of Pakistanis homeless and without basic necessities.
Items most needed are tents, blankets and heavy winter clothing. People who wish to donate may drop off goods at the Boulder Mosque, 1530 Culver St., on the southeast corner of Arapahoe and 28th streets, or a pickup can be arranged for large quantities of goods by e-mailing bin Sohail at Saqib.Sohail@colorado.edu.
Donations can be dropped off at the Boulder Mosque from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14.
Pakistan International Airlines, PIA, has offered to fly the relief supplies to Pakistan at no charge from its stations around the world. Goods from the Boulder drive will be shipped to Chicago and transferred to PIA. For more information see the PIA Web site at .
