Robert Gill has been appointed the new chair of the Leeds School of Business Deming Center for Entrepreneurship Advisory Board at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Ralph "Bud" Sorenson, general partner of the Sorenson Limited Partnership in Colorado, has been named a new member of the advisory board.
" We are very pleased to have leadership from Robert Gill and the counsel of Bud Sorenson on our advisory board," said Paul Jerde, director of the Deming Center.
Gill is a principal of the Topaz Group, which provides consulting services for corporations and investors, and serves as Chairman of AdPay Inc., a provider of e-Commerce and content software services for newspaper classifieds. Prior to joining the Topaz Group, Gill was chairman, president and CEO of MobileForce Technologies Inc., which managed application services for cable television and telecommunications customers. At MobileForce, he successfully restructured the company and created and launched software and services widely recognized and utilized today in the cable industry.
From 1989 to 1995, Gill was president, CEO and director of a publicly traded company, ConferTech International, Inc. Gill serves on the board of directors for the Colorado Technology Incubator and is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award through the Boulder Esprit Entrepreneur.
Sorenson is President Emeritus of Babson College, having led the Massachusetts institution from 1974 to 1981, when he oversaw the launching of its strategic initiative in the field of entrepreneurial studies. Today, the college is recognized as a leader in entrepreneurial education. He also is professor emeritus at the Leeds School of Business.
Sorenson serves on the board of directors for a number of publicly traded companies and advises a variety of Front Range start-up companies such as Boulder Securities and Color Link, Inc.
Prior to Babson, Sorenson was an assistant professor at the Harvard Business School, his alma mater. He directed the Harvard Advisory Group in Manila for two years in the Philippines and co-founded the Asian Institute of Management.
Sorenson also was a research associate at the IMEDE Management Development Institute in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a marketing executive at the Nestle headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland. He is an overseer of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, an overseer emeritus of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and a trustee of the Nature Conservatory of Colorado.
