Storytelling, drum performances and a sampling of foods from across Asia are some of the highlights of "Asia Day" at the University of Colorado at Boulder on Saturday, March 4.
The free public event presented by the CU-Boulder Center for Asian Studies will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fleming Law Building on the Boulder campus. The law building is located near the corner of Baseline and Broadway, south of Fiske Planetarium and is accessed via Regent Drive.
In its fifth year, Asia Day is designed to celebrate and educate people about the cultures of Japan, China, Korea, India and other Asian nations.
Performances of Balinese gamelan and Japanese taiko drums, introductions to Asian languages, screenings of documentaries by CU faculty and traditional Malaysian shadow puppet theater are all part of the planned festivities. Activities for children are planned throughout the day.
