The University of Colorado at Boulder's Leeds School of Business will host teams from some of the most prestigious universities in North America for the sixth annual Leeds Net Impact Case Competition on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The event will challenge teams of four MBA students to formulate business and financial strategies and apply them to a case study of a real-world company facing an issue related to sustainability. Strategies must address both profitability and environmentally friendly practices.

Each team will present its analyses and solutions to a panel of industry and academic experts during preliminary and final rounds. The competition will be held in CU-Boulder's new Wolf Law Building. To accommodate more entrants, this year's competition featured an online first round. Out of 42 teams representing 26 universities, judges selected 20 finalists.

The public is invited to attend the final round of competition, which will begin at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Wolf Courtroom.

Two teams each from the following business schools will participate in this year's competition, including Michigan State University's Broad School of Business; Purdue University's Krannert School of Management; the University of California-Berkeley's Haas School of Business; the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business; and York University's Schulich School of Business.

Schools with a single qualifying team for the competition include Cornell University's Johnson School; Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management; Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business; the George Washington University School of Business; the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business; the University of California-Los Angeles' Anderson School of Management; the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business; the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School; the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business; and the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business.

The MBA program at CU-Boulder's Leeds School of Business is sponsoring the competition, and Leeds students are organizing the event.
