People attending the University of Colorado at Boulder commencement ceremony May 11 at 8:30 a.m. in Folsom Stadium will join a crowd of about 20,000 and should plan an early arrival.
Stadium gates will open at 7 a.m. for seating. No tickets are required for the ceremony, which will be held in Folsom Stadium regardless of the weather.
The access road called Stadium Drive, north of the Dal Ward Athletic Center, will be closed to all traffic between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on May 11 for the graduation procession.
Most of the available parking for the ceremony will be in lots off Regent Drive, just south of Colorado Avenue, and parking attendants will be on hand to direct people to the lots.
Close-in parking and the drop-off area for those who have difficulty walking will be along Colorado Avenue, across from the stadium. People who want to use the drop-off area should do so as early as possible.
Commencement planners also are encouraging use of the HOP, SKIP and STAMPEDE buses, which run about every 10 minutes and stop near the stadium. Buses will be operating the morning of the ceremony.
Campus parking meters are free the day of commencement. Additional parking also is available in the Euclid Avenue Autopark, a pay parking lot on Euclid Avenue just off Broadway near the University Memorial Center and a short walk from the stadium.
