A group of prominent University of Colorado at Boulder professors will discuss immigration's impact on the U.S. economy, national security and cultural identity during an upcoming summer Alumni Association event.

The association's second annual Alumni College, open to CU-Boulder alumni and the public, will take place on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16. Panelists will address the issue of "Immigration: American Identity, Prosperity and National Security" during four panel sessions.

CU-Boulder history and international affairs Professor Robert Schulzinger, the author of a dozen books on U.S. history and foreign relations, will direct the meeting. Featured presenters will include Albert Bartlett, a physics professor emeritus and population growth and sustainability expert, and William Wei, a history professor and Asian American issues expert.

Panelists also will include Ralph Mann, an associate professor who teaches 19th century U.S. history; Kenneth Bickers, the political science department chair who has written widely on state and federal governmental relations; Gerard Hauser, a professor who specializes in rhetorical theory; Ken Orona, an associate professor who specializes in political history; Clare Huntington, an associate law professor and former U.S. Supreme Court clerk; and Eric Gonzales Juenke, an assistant professor who examines policy as it relates to ethnic minorities.

This year's college will be held in the ATLAS building and includes a closing reception with CU-Boulder Chancellor G.P. "Bud" Peterson at the Koenig Alumni Center. Entrance fees are $62 for association members and $92 for nonmembers.
