NASA astronaut Steve Swanson will be unable to participate in the University of Colorado at Boulder's 2007 Homecoming parade on Sept. 28 due to unexpected NASA training obligations, CU-Boulder officials announced today.

Swanson is still scheduled to appear during halftime at the CU versus Oklahoma football game on Oct. 29.

Honorary Marshals for the CU-Boulder Homecoming parade, set for 5:15 p.m. in Boulder's University Hill neighborhood, will be honored faculty members Brett King of psychology and Janet De Grazia of engineering in addition to four former Buffs who also played in the NFL: Deon Figures, Kanavis McGhee, Matt Russell and Alfred Williams.

CU-Boulder Chancellor G.P. "Bud" Peterson and Boulder Mayor Mark Ruzzin also will participate in the parade.

The parade will be followed by a pep rally at 5:45 p.m., a free outdoor concert featuring Tea Leaf Green on Farrand Field at 7 p.m. and a free comedy show with Comedy Works at the University Memorial Center at 10 p.m. on the CU-Boulder campus.

Student groups and local businesses are encouraged to participate in the parade. Those interested can register online at .
