The University of Colorado Foundation board of trustees and board of directors announced the election of five new board members and the re-election of seven returning board members.

Richard E. Engebretson has been elected to the board of directors. He will join Mary Lee Beauregard, Richard M. Burridge Sr. and Andrea C. Dikeou, who have been re-elected to both the board of directors and the board of trustees.

Fredrick J. Bradford, Larry F. Frey, Peter A. Mannetti, Karen L. Possehl and Alan B. Steiner have been elected as new members to the board of trustees. Re-elected trustees include John B. "Jack" Kemp III, Laurie Vargas and Steven A. Walsh.

Members of the board of directors have fiduciary responsibilities overseeing the business and financial operations of the CU Foundation. Members of the board of trustees oversee and participate in fundraising, strategic planning, and advising and assisting the board of directors. Both elected and re-elected members will serve three-year terms beginning this fall.

Founded in 1967, the CU Foundation is the nonprofit partner of the University of Colorado whose mission is to raise, manage and invest private support for the benefit of the university. The University of Colorado is a three-university system with campuses in Boulder and Colorado Springs, and a Denver and Health Sciences Center campus located in downtown Denver and at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.
