The University of Colorado at Boulder Leeds School of Business MBA program has been ranked in the top 20 in two surveys released this week.

The Aspen Institute has ranked the Leeds School 20th for social and environmental stewardship in its 2007-08 Beyond Grey Pinstripes rankings. The biennial global ranking evaluates business school efforts to prepare graduates for new business realities demanding social and environmental stewardship. Beyond Grey Pinstripes also ranked the Leeds School eighth among "small schools" with spring 2007 enrollments of less than 100 students.

Entrepreneur magazine and the Princeton Review partnered in a survey of entrepreneurship programs nationally and ranked the Leeds School graduate program 14th in the nation in the magazine's fifth annual ranking of the top entrepreneurship programs.

"We are extremely pleased that Beyond Grey Pinstripes, Entrepreneur magazine and the Princeton Review have recognized the outstanding programs we have in sustainability, social responsibility and entrepreneurship," said Cathleen Burns, Leeds School associate dean for academic programs. "We are committed to continue improvement in these areas where we exhibit international leadership."

While the surveys addressed graduate rankings, Burns noted that the Leeds School also has major commitments in ethics, social responsibility, sustainability and entrepreneurship at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

"We have a new required junior-level class in business applications in social responsibility, as well as two international student competitions, the Net Impact business case competition and the Cleantech Challenge business plan competition, that address sustainability and entrepreneurship," Burns said.

The Leeds School cosponsors the case competition with Net Impact, an international nonprofit membership organization comprised of new leaders who are committed to using the power of business to improve the world. The Cleantech Challenge is sponsored by the Leeds School's Deming Center for Entrepreneurship.
