Peace Corps Director Ronald Tschetter will speak to undergraduate business students during a visit to the University of Colorado at Boulder on Thursday, Nov. 29.
Tschetter will speak to students in the "Business Applications for Social Responsibility" class beginning at 3 p.m. in room 102 of the Koelbel Building. During his visit he also will meet with top university officials and have lunch with potential and soon-to-depart Peace Corps volunteers and Peace Corps alumni.
Tschetter and his wife, Nancy, served as Peace Corps volunteers in India from 1966 to 1968. He is the third director in the Peace Corps' history who was also a Peace Corps volunteer.
Prior to becoming Peace Corps director in September 2006, Tschetter was president of the investment firm D.A. Davidson & Co. and for 10 years was president of the Private Client Group for Dain Rauscher. He has won numerous awards for his leadership and community service.
CU-Boulder currently ranks third among all U.S. colleges and universities in the number of its alumni, 100, now serving as Peace Corps volunteers. CU-Boulder this year became the sixth university in the nation to surpass the 2,000 mark for the number of graduates who have served as Peace Corps volunteers, with a total of 2,052 since the organization was founded in 1961.
