The University of Colorado will play West Virginia University in a nationally televised football game on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at Folsom Field, and CU officials strongly encourage faculty, staff, students, visitors and Front Range CU fans to consider alternative transportation and parking on game day.

With thousands of additional people in Boulder and on campus for the game during a work and school day, traffic is expected to be especially heavy and parking extremely difficult. Walking, riding a bicycle or taking public transportation such as a bus to campus for classes and work on game day, and to the game, is strongly suggested.

Stadium gates will open to the public at 5 p.m., and fans are encouraged to enter the stadium as early as possible to avoid last minute crowding at the gates.

Campus parking will be limited to students attending classes, game day operations, essential campus operations and campus permit holders as space allows. For those who drive to the game, campus and city officials are recommending parking in a temporary lot at Foothills Parkway and Colorado Avenue, at the Twenty Ninth Street mall or in downtown parking garages. University parking officials will be at the Foothills Parkway and Colorado Avenue temporary lot to direct people to parking spots.

Campus-operated Buff Buses will be available to carry game-goers from the temporary lot at Foothills Parkway and Colorado Avenue to the stadium and back at no charge. People who park at the Twenty Ninth Street mall can ride the HOP bus, which stops near Macy's, to and from the stadium. Riders also can take the SKIP bus from downtown Boulder to the game. After the game riders can board the SKIP at Broadway and 16th Street across from the University Memorial Center.

RTD's BuffRide will be operating throughout the Denver metro area to bring fans to the game. Buses start departing about two hours and 30 minutes before kickoff from park-n-ride locations where passengers can park for free. RTD also will be operating additional buses for the J, Stampede and 209 routes, as well as from the U.S. 36 at Broomfield Park-N-Ride for the game.

Special valet bike parking and a locked bike storage facility will be available near the Duane Physics building for those who ride their bikes to the game. The facility will open one hour and 30 minutes before the game and 30 minutes after the game.

Accessible parking for persons with disabilities will be available at the Euclid Avenue Autopark beginning at 4:30 p.m. Shuttles will be on hand to transport people between the parking structure, located east of the University Memorial Center, and the stadium before and after the game.

RV parking will be available at the Millennium Harvest House. To make an RV parking reservation call 303-443-3850.
