The University of Colorado at Boulder group Friends of the Libraries will hold its fall "Treasures" event featuring Dan Corson's presentation, "Boulder: A City Where Nothing Really Changes," on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The free, public event will be held at 10 a.m. in Benson Earth Sciences Building room 180 on the CU-Boulder campus. An open house and reception will immediately follow the program in the Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences and Map Library.

Corson, a 35-year Boulder resident, is a former city council member. Since 1998, he has worked with the Colorado Historical Society's Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation.

Corson partnered with University of Colorado Denver Professor Tom Noel to co-author the book "Boulder County: An Illustrated History." He said he likes to focus on the fun aspects of Boulder's history that may be thought provoking as well.

The Nov. 1 event is co-sponsored by the Camera newspaper. Metered visitor parking is available in lot 359 off Colorado Avenue.
