The University of Colorado at Boulder Leeds School of Business will present its 44th annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook forum on Monday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Denver Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1750 Welton St.

Sponsored by the Leeds School's Business Research Division and BBVA Compass bank, the event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.

The comprehensive state economic outlook forum for 2009 features forecasts and trends for 13 business sectors compiled by the Leeds School's Business Research Division with the assistance of more than 80 key business, government and industry professionals.

Economic snapshots from specific counties and regions around the state -- as well as updates on international trade, population and the labor force, and a general outlook on the national economy -- are included in the outlook. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

Lee McIntire, president and CEO-elect of the Englewood-based firm CH2M HILL, will present the keynote address at 2:30 p.m.

The forum will conclude with a series of breakout sessions at 3:15 p.m. focusing on some of the top economic issues facing Colorado, including:

· An Energy Update and Policy Issues Facing the State and the Next Administration

· The Future of Finance, Banking and Equity Markets

· Is There a Crisis in Colorado Real Estate Markets?
