University of Colorado at Boulder Interim Chancellor Phil DiStefano will give a Spring Semester Campus Update on Friday, April 3, at 8 a.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom at the University Memorial Center on the CU-Boulder campus.
The event will be a forum in which DiStefano will provide briefings on major campus issues, including the search for the CU-Boulder chancellor, the Flagship 2030 Strategic Plan, campus and state budgets, and CU-Boulder's progress in accreditation and the updating of the campus's master plan. He also will answer questions from the CU community about these and other issues.
"I look forward to this important exchange in my first major event as interim chancellor," said DiStefano, who was named to the post on March 12 by CU President Bruce Benson. "We are at a critical time for the university, but I want our community to know that in all areas, we are engaging these new realities with confidence, unity and a strong sense of purpose under the Flagship 2030 Strategic Plan."
The update is expected to last one hour. Refreshments will be provided.
Prior to being named interim chancellor, DiStefano had served as provost -- the chief academic officer at CU-Boulder -- since 2001. As interim chancellor, he will continue to serve as provost until a permanent chancellor is found.
DiStefano previously served as interim chancellor at CU-Boulder in 2005-06 and has served in a variety of administrative leadership capacities since joining the campus as a professor of education in 1974.
