The University of Colorado at Boulder will offer a number of fun activities for fans and children attending the annual CU Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 25, including an expanded "Healthy Kids Day."
The football game starts at 1 p.m. at Folsom Field and is free and open to the public.
Prior to the game, the CU-Boulder Athletic Department will offer more fitness stations and new activities as part of its annual Healthy Kids Day. The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Folsom Field and on Franklin Field, located directly east of Folsom Field. Registration for the event will take place at the entrance to Franklin Field, located on Colorado Avenue.
Children in the eighth grade and under will have the opportunity to participate in skill stations featuring CU student athletes. The first 1,000 kids to complete the required stations will receive a souvenir T-shirt and free food from Outback Steakhouse.
"Athletics is a big part of the CU experience and the lives of people in the Boulder community," said CU-Boulder Athletic Director Mike Bohn. "We're happy to be able to bring so many young people to campus so they can meet our student athletes, have some fun and get a good look at a first-class university."
Once children have completed any five stations, they will be able to get a free CU T-shirt. They also will have the opportunity to get autographs from all CU athletes while participating in the stations and have the opportunity to meet Ralphie. The football team will start signing autographs at approximately 11 a.m. on Folsom Field.
There will be more than 15 stations including soccer, volleyball, golf, track and field and football. New events this year from the CU Club Sports Program include rugby, crew, ultimate Frisbee, tae kwon do and lacrosse.
Following Healthy Kids Day, a pre-game party will be held in the Balch Fieldhouse, where former Buffs will be on hand to sign autographs. The first 1,500 fans will get free food.
Healthy Kids Day is sponsored by Noodles & Company, Qdoba, Outback Steakhouse and Bank of the West.
