The University of Colorado at Boulder will host an open house on Wednesday, June 3, to seek community input on an update to the East Campus site plan.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics building at 1234 Innovation Drive on the East Campus.

"We're in the initiation phase of the campus master plan for 2010-2020 and this is the first opportunity for the public to give input specifically on the East Campus," said Phil Simpson, assistant director for campus planning.

The open house will feature multiple stations where community members can visit with facilities and planning staff. The first stop will provide an overview presentation of the master planning process presented by Frank Bruno, vice chancellor for administration, and Paul Leef, campus architect. Additional CU-Boulder staff will provide information on preserving open space and wetlands, transportation, and planning and density.

CU-Boulder is updating the East Campus site plan as part of a larger campus master planning effort to accommodate future campus needs. The campus first adopted a site plan for the East Campus as a research park in the late 1980s. The Systems Biotechnology Building, a concept developed for the current campus master plan, is planned to start construction on the East Campus in September and to be completed in the fall of 2011.

Feedback from the public is encouraged at the open house. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
