The University of Colorado Program Council, University Memorial Center staff and city of Boulder officials will conduct a sound test on Sunday, June 14, between 3 and 7 p.m. at Farrand Field on the CU-Boulder campus.

The test will measure sound levels from live music at various points within Boulder neighborhoods. Last fall, the university received feedback regarding sound levels in the community from two outdoor concerts held on Farrand Field. Since the first concert, CU has been working to address the issues raised in order to reduce the impact the concerts have on CU's neighbors.

"We have two important goals here," said CU-Boulder Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Deb Coffin. "We want to provide a welcoming event that will keep our students engaged in life on campus, and we want to be a good neighbor to our friends here in Boulder."

The test will be conducted in partnership with an acoustic engineering firm and with the city of Boulder's Environmental and Zoning Enforcement Office.

Anyone overly impacted by the sound tests should call CU Program Council's complaint line at 303-492-7704. The line will be active from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
