In an effort to assist the Boulder Police Department with an ongoing investigation, the University of Colorado at Boulder Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying a suspect in a sexual assault case that occurred between 2 and 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 6 in the area of 17th Street and Broadway.
A 19-year-old female was walking home after leaving her friend's residence and was sexually assaulted by an adult male on the grounds of University Hill Elementary School. The attacker was described as male aged 18-25, possibly of Middle Eastern descent, with a pronounced, pointed nose, spiked hair that was dark in color but did not contain hair gel, dark eyes, and no facial hair.

Information on this incident was not received by the Boulder Police Department until a week after the incident. Additional time also was needed to obtain information from the woman on the details needed to create the composite sketch.

• When it comes to your safety, it is always better to err on the side of caution by contacting one of the numbers listed above with your concerns.

• Don't be a passive bystander. If you see a crime in progress, quickly make a call or assemble a group to aid a victim.
