The University of Colorado at Boulder today announced the departure of Michael L. Warden, associate vice chancellor for strategic communications. Following a national search, Warden, a 30-year public relations executive and academician, has been named vice president for communications and marketing at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

He has headed university communications for the Boulder campus since January 2007. He will start his new appointment Dec. 1.

"I want to thank Michael for his leadership of our communication efforts over the last four years," said DiStefano. "He has assembled a strong team here at CU-Boulder that positions us well to seek new leadership while unifying our campus messages and tying them directly to the Flagship 2030 Strategic Plan. We wish him well at Georgia Tech."
