A helicopter conducting roof thermal imaging of °µÍø½ûÇø buildings will fly over campus tonight.

The helicopter will take off approximately two hours after sundown and will be in the air for about two and a half hours. The analog camera on board the helicopter will produce black and white thermal images to show if water is entrapped on building roofs and where buildings are losing heat. By determining if there are leaks in the building envelopes, engineers will be able to implement changes needed to improve energy efficiency and conservation.

When this process was last conducted, 48 roofs were proactively discovered to be in need of repairs.
