Boulder, CO -- In support of efforts to prevent violence against women,Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet met with students, volunteers and staff at the °µÍø½ûÇø today to celebrate Senate passage of .ÌýÌýThe Senate passed VAWA, which Bennet cosponsored, late last week.Ìý Bennet discussed how the bill strengthens protections against domestic and sexual violence and heard about CU’s efforts on campus.

VAWA advances efforts to combat domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The bill provides essential resources to state and local law enforcement to investigate and prosecute crimes and to nonprofit organizations that supply essential services for victims and survivors. The act was originally enacted as Title IV of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994.
