Presented by the CU-Boulder student group and (CAPS), the pledge also includes no recreational drug use. Alternatively, participants can decide to take a where they agree to be binge-free while abstaining from recreational drug use.

“My hope is that people who take the pledge will use it as a chance to stand back and think about how attitudes and behaviors connected to substance use affect our daily lives," said Matthew Tomatz, substance abuse coordinator at CAPS. "It is a great opportunity to recognize how drugs and alcohol affect us all while offering students many events to connect and socialize without alcohol."

The event will kickoff with a free lunch in the UMC Fountaion Area for people taking the pledge. Hosted by CU Student Government and the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the lunch will give people a chance to meet others who are participating in the weekend. .
