The University Memorial Center Student Involvement Office, Dennis Small Culture Center, and Program Council will host a on Friday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. This event is free for all students and will feature the top bands at CU-Boulder. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
The Battle of the Bands will include bands of many different genres all competing for the right to be the best CU-Boulder band. will perform after the battle has ended. The band is known for playing funk, bluegrass, rock, and electronica; sometimes in a single composition. Improvisation, crowd participation, and original set lists each night make for high energy live shows said to move the mind and booty, simultaneously.
This year's battle, themed Born in the Ballroom, is an annual event at CU-Boulder that seeks to not only showcase the talent of student bands but also to foster a sense of community and cultural diversity on campus. The groups that will perform are Moontang, Sleepwalker, DJ Hyperion, Tenth Mountain Division, Parkview, Kill Your Darlings, and ISSOVEE.
