The University Memorial Center (UMC) is celebrating its 60th birthday. A living memorial to Colorado veterans, the building is visited by more than 12,000 people every day and houses retail, student group offices, banking, printing, mailing, bowling and lots of places to just hang out. A full slate of events kicks off on Monday, Nov. 4, culminating in the annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11. Be sure to attend the “Celebrating 60 Years” party on Wednesday evening, roller skating in the Glenn Miller Ballroom on Thursday, FAC on Friday, the Veterans Day Ceremony and enjoy daily specials throughout the week.

Daily Specials (Monday, Nov. 4 – Friday, Nov. 8)
• Decade-themed lunch specials – The Tabor in Alferd Packer Restaurant & Grill
• Fresh brewed Peet’s drip coffee – only 60 cents for 12oz, Baby Doe’s, 7-9 a.m.

• Arrive early for a special I Love Mondays! 2-3 p.m. in the North Dining Room, 1st floor

Tuesday, Nov. 5
• UMC “Time After Time” exhibit in the Gallery from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

• UMC “Time After Time” exhibit in the Gallery from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
• “Celebrating 60 Years” – Join us for a reception from 7-9 p.m. as we celebrate the people, services and facilities of the UMC! Connect with past and current UMC staff and students, reminisce about favorite memories, learn some unique pieces of UMC history, and enjoy performances from the Buffoons and the Swing Dance Club of CU.

Celebrate the ’90s
Thursday, Nov. 7
• UMC “Time After Time” exhibit in the Gallery from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Roller skating in the Glenn Miller Ballroom, 7-11 p.m. Free and open to CU students, staff and faculty with current Buff OneCard.

Celebrate the 2000s
Friday, Nov. 8
• FAC is back! Friday Afternoon Club was a popular staple of the UMC in the past and this week is a great time to bring it back! Join us for root beer floats, cake, live music and an appearance by Chip in the North Dining Room from 3-5 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 9
• “Define the Future” – CU GOLD is hosting its annual. Register to attend.

Sunday, Nov. 10
Tough Buff 5K Obstable Course 2013! 9 a.m. at the Buffalo Plaza near the Balch Fieldhouse, Boulder campus.

Monday, Nov. 11
• Veteran’s Day Ceremony – The UMC remains the State of Colorado’s official memorial to veterans and we take great pride in this designation. Our annual ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom, and this year’s keynote speaker is CU alum and U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Kerry M. Metz.
