The University of Colorado Student Government is pleased to announce the preliminary results of the spring 2014 elections for CUSG, ASSG, and UCEC. As of 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, CU Student Government Elections came to a close, and a new set of student leaders were cast.

Juedon Kebede, Chelsea Canada and Lora Roberts of UNITE are your Tri-Executives for 2014-2015.

The four new Representatives-at-Large are Caitlin Pratt (UNITE), Ben Nguyen (UNITE), Katherine Raitz (UNITE) and Aleia Amaya (UNITE).

The Arts and Sciences Student Government (ASSG) Co-Senator positions were won by Rachel Leonard and Will Fattor (UNITE). The Co-Senators will share a seat on Legislative Council and work within the Council of Colleges and Schools. Laura Moore (UNITE), Cameron Gil (UNITE), Gabrielle Hawkins (UNITE), Shannon Lacy (UNITE) and Jonathan Heisler (UNITE) won as the five new ASSG Representatives.

The University of Colorado Engineering Council (UCEC) enjoyed a record turn out of votes cast this election. Lauren Gresh (INSPIRE) will be the new UCEC President, and Hoang Dinh (INSPIRE) and Brian Kelly (INSPIRE) won as UCEC Vice Presidents. The new UCEC Co-Senators, who share a seat on Legislative Council and CCS, are Bridger Ruyle and Chris Urias (UNITE). The nine UCEC Representative positions were won by Benjamin Cloud (INSPIRE), Guadalupe Avalos (UNITE), Lea Connors (UNITE), Michael Feller (UNITE), Benjamin Greiner (UNITE), Samantha Guilles (UNITE), Denis Kazakov (UNITE), Aleka Stevens (UNITE) and Qinyue “Moon” Yin (UNITE).

Thank you to all the candidates for your hard work during this election season. Communities that understand the importance of taking part in the democratic process foster civic engagement, and CUSG would like to thank all campus staff and faculty who announced the elections in their classrooms, encouraged participation, and made accommodations for both voters and candidates.
