OED Seminar: Emotional Intelligence

FSAP Workshop: Understanding Credit: How to Read Your Credit Report and Improve Your Credit Score

If you have ever applied for a credit card or loan, you know how vital a role your credit report plays in your financial health. This information directly impacts your ability to buy a car or home, obtain insurance, rent an apartment, or even get a job. Be sure that your credit report reflects the real you. This presentation is designed to help you understand the system and positively impact your score, regardless of your financial situation. Topics include:

  • Implications of your credit score
  • Other credit considerations
  • Information in your credit report
  • How to improve your credit score
  • What counts against you in your credit report
  • How to fix errors on your credit report

Elevations also offers a “Reality Check-Up” where CU employees can set up private, half-hour appointments to review their credit reports line-by-line and can receive their Experian credit score (credit scores are free for Elevations members and around $6 for non-members).

The “Managing the CU-Boulder Way” training course is a two-day program which focuses specifically on the knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful manager at CU-Boulder. The training approach includes an overview of related policies and procedures, but will primarily focus on helping participants understand best practices and why they should care about these important topics.

Participants will learn the following in an interactive and engaging training environment:

  • Support and inspire employees with the CU-Boulder culture, mission, vision and values
  • Engage employees and foster a positive work culture from hire to retire
  • Use effective recruitment and compensation strategies to attract and retain the best talent
  • Manage and support employee performance
  • Navigate performance issues and follow appropriate disciplinary processes when necessary
  • Manage employee leave and accommodate requests
  • Foster an inclusive learning and working environment free of discrimination and harassment
  • Connect with the valuable resources available on the CU-Boulder campus
