It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the °µÍø½ûÇø.

It is not the hallways, nor the buildings, nor the mountains where we work and play that make CU great. It is the people … the students, faculty and staff.ÌýWe invite you to take pride in and continue our legacy of community and scholarship.

We welcome you to a community that values our campus environment - the life of the mind, and respectful and engaging interactions with others. At CU-Boulder we will give you the tools to seek the truth and engage in healthy discussions and civil discourse as part of your problem-solving skills as citizens in a global society.

You will have the opportunity to accomplish important research and creative work, join exciting and informative debates, and experience the diversity of humanity. This diversity is a treasured part of the CU-Boulder experience – diversity of thought, background, race, class, religion, geographic origin, sexual orientation and identity - a reflection of the diverse world in which we live.

We are a campus that values the well-being of each of our community members. We strive to be a leader in extending campus safety and improving our campus climate, and we will actively seek our community’s participation in tackling these challenging issues head-on.

As chancellor, I want to personally summon you to this great adventure. And in doing so, I want to invite you to transform yourself, your community, your nation and your world.

Welcome to CU-Boulder, we’re glad you’ve chosen to be a Buff!

Philip P. DiStefano, chancellor
