The Student and Community Outreach on Renter Efficiency program, or , is a free service for students living off-campus who want to save energy, water and money. The program's main goal is to help student renters save money on their energy bills, while reducing their ecological footprint. Students can sign up for a free home energy and water assessment.
Each assessment, which takes around an hour (), will be performed by two trained CU student technicians. During the assessment, the technicians will install energy saving devices such as energy efficient CFL light bulbs, weather-stripping, sink aerators, window film, pipe insulation and water-smart showerheads, completely free of charge. While one technician is busy doing the quick installs, the other will sit down with the student renters to discuss targeted ways to save money on energy bills.
Additionally, if over half the roommates in the home are present, a free Cosmo鈥檚 Pizza will be provided.
