Chancellor DiStefano and other °µÍø½ûÇø representatives visited four Colorado communities at the end of last week as part of a statewide outreach tour.

The tour included events in Fort Collins, Winter Park, Grand Junction and Carbondale and several hundred alumni, parents, incoming students and friends attended.

Chancellor DiStefano updated the audience on CU-Boulder’s recent accomplishments and Athletic Director Rick George talked about what fans can expect to see this year on and off the field, especially in relation to the department’s Sustainable Excellence Initiative. They were joined by Professor Jeff Mitton, of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, who talked about the pine beetle epidemic across Colorado. Mitton addressed what we’ve learned from research and what mountain travelers can expect in the future.Ìý
