Happy Halloween, Buffaloes! Get your costume ready and check out one of the Halloween themed events this weekend. Remember to keep it classy and take care of your friends! Fall Color Tree Walk.The Fall Color Tree Walk, hosted by Facilities Management and the CU Museum of Natural History, takes participants on a tour around campus where theywill see the colorful foliage and learn the distinctive characteristics and historical significance of different trees on CU's main campus. Thetour is free, open to the public, and startsat 5 p.m.at the south entrance of the CU Museum of Natural History at 15th and Broadway. Reservations are not required.

An Evening with George Takei.The incredibly well spoken, funnyand popular actor and activist George Takei (the original Mr. Sulu) will be speakingat Macky Auditorium starting at 7:30 p.m. Come to be entertained and educated, and ask questions at the end. Tickets are $2 for CU students, and get them quick because this will almost surely sell out!

Original GhostbustersԾԲ.Program Council presents a showing of the original 1984 Ghostbusters movie with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroydand Harold Ramis for freein Chem 140 at 8 p.m. Wear your costume for brownie points and get free popcorn. Even if you plan to see the new Ghostbusters, nothing beats the classic!

The Penguin Book of the Undead discussion and signing.CU Professor Scott Bruce will be at the Boulder Book Storeat 7:30 p.m. to discuss his new book, The Penguin Book of the Undead, which explores the human relationship with the undead through ancient religion, folkloreand mythology. Bruce will discuss ghosts and demons, and finish with a book signing. The price of attendance is $5.

Filmmaker andphotographer Daniel Traub tospeak.The Conference on World Affairs welcomes Daniel Traub, the mastermind behind the book of photography titled Little North Road: Africa in China. Swing by Old Main at 6:30 p.m.to discuss and learn more about this project and to meet the filmmaker and photographer. The event is free and open to all!

Pinterest and Popcorn.Swing by UMC 330between noon and 5 p.m. if you need a break! The Center for Student Involvement hosts "Pinterest and Popcorn," free afternoons where you can get a snack and make a craft and generally throwback to simpler childhood times. This week you’ll be making greeting cards, so grab a friend and come relax for awhile!

Halloween Masquerade Ball.One of the most popular on-campus Halloween parties, the Masquerade Ball hosted by the CU tango club is back again this year. There will be free Argentine tango lessons (for all levels) starting 7 p.m. and a big ol’ dance party from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. You must wear a costume, and the event is free (including food) and open to everyone.

Pearl Street Mall Crawl.The Mall Crawl has been a Halloween tradition for a very long time. This is when half of Boulder comes together on the Pearl street to see and be seen in their costumes, as well as to catch the annual Thriller Flash Mob (which we take very seriously, by the way) at 8:30 p.m. in front of the Courthouse. This unofficial but huge gathering rolls through most of the night, so be sure to swing by.

Above and Beyond: Cosmic Conversations Innovative NASA Missions.Fiske Planetarium welcomes speaker Jessica Robertsat 9 p.m. where she will discuss some of the amazing recent accomplishments of NASA as well as look to the future of space missions and discovery. Roberts is one of our own here at CU: a grad student researching the atmosphere of Jupiter. Admission is free for students with a valid Buff OneCard.

Check out a haunted house.Whether it’sthe Boulder High haunted house just at the bottom of the hill or the infamous 13th Floor in Denver, get your scare quota filled his Halloween weekend. Embrace that Halloween tradition of walking through a haunted house, whichever one it may be, and don’t forget to bring a friend to cling to when the going gets scary.
