This weekend brings the Social Justice & Leadership Conference, a look at the night sky, films celebrating Black History Month, student dance performances and voice recitals, a game against the Golden Bears and more.

Friday, Feb. 24

   5–6 p.m.    Rec Center, Studio 2 
February is Body Image Awareness Month. Focus on self-love and get in touch with your inner self during this Free Friday Power Hour. 

   5–6 p.m.    Rec Center, ice rink
Have you ever done a cardio workout on ice? Enjoy an ice skating experience like never before. Basic skating skills are helpful. 

   8 p.m.    Sommers-Bausch Observatory
Explore the night sky with Sommers-Bausch Observatory. This open house is free and open to the public.


Saturday, Feb. 25

   8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.    Kittredge Central, N114, Multipurpose Rooms A–D
This conference is an opportunity for CU Boulder students to learn and network. Free breakfast, lunch and swag. 

   Noon    CU Events Center    $10–$12
It's time for the Buffs to take on the California Golden Bears. Sko Buffs! 

   7:30 p.m.    Muenzinger, Room E050    $7–$9
Celebrate Black History Month through cinema. Buck and the Preacher rewrites Western films by adding in Black heroes. The film reclaims the Western movie genre with Black liberation. The film  will be shown the following evening.

   7:30 p.m.    Charlotte York Irey Theatre    $19
Open Space student-produced and a CU Dance Connection-curated series. The show is also being held on Feb. 24 and Feb. 26, same time and place.


Sunday, Feb. 26

   2:30–3:30 p.m.    Fiske Planetarium
Explore the past, present and future of our unique solar system, narrated by George Takei from Star Trek.

   5–7 p.m.   The Connection    $11
Put your bowling skills to the text during a tournament. 

   4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m.    Imig Music
Enjoy a doctoral recital by Erick Miranda, saxophone; and junior recitals by Enrique Arellano, oboe, and Lucy Rogers, tuba. The performances are also available via livestream.
