This weekend brings casino night, a Leeds diversity scholarship fundraiser, cookie decorating, a presentation on black holes, a class on lower-body building, a bowling tournament, the 2023 Sonic Summit and more.

Friday, March 10

  5 p.m. VIP; 6 p.m. GA    Folsom Field & Stadium, Touchdown Club    $35–$75
Attend a fundraising event organized by current MBA students. The goal is to increase scholarship funds and diversity at Leeds. 

  4–6 p.m.    The Connection
Decorate cookies with members of the CU community. Attendees will have access to half-price bowling and billiards and free sandwiches. 

Free Friday Power Hour: Body building

  5–6 p.m.    Rec Center, Studio 2
Work your lower-body muscles with this week’s Free Friday Power Hour. This free fitness class is perfect for anyone looking to build lower-body strength.

The SKY Club is offering a powerful weekend retreat filled with evidence-based meditation and breathwork practices, social connection, self-development and stress-management skills that bring calm, clarity and happiness.  There is limited space, and fees apply (scholarships available).

Test your luck with Casino Night! The connection is hosting a night of five-card draw poker, blackjack and roulette


Saturday, March 11

  2:30–3:30 p.m.   Duane Physics, Room G1B30
What is really going on inside black holes? Professor Andrew Hamilton is taking you on a virtual voyage with the Black Hole Flight Simulator. 

  7–11 p.m.    The Connection
Regular bowling is fun, but extreme bowling is better! Enjoy a night of black lights, colored pins and more. 

  7:30–8:30 p.m.    ATLAS Center, Room B2
Immerse yourself in live performances from sonic artists. Learn about ambisonics, the immersive audio industry and hear artists discuss their work. Can’t make it on Saturday? The festival is also happening at various times on March 12.


Sunday, March 12

  11 a.m.    Rec Center, Mind Body Studio
Women of color are underrepresented in U.S. yoga. This Inclusive Rec program hopes to foster mindfulness, community and authenticity. 

  1–3 p.m.    The Connection
How polished are your bowling skills? Come down to The Connection for some friendly competition. 

  2:30–3:30 p.m.    Fiske Planetarium
