CU Boulder, Aspen Hospitality, local government officials and community members came together this week to celebrate progress on construction of the new Limelight Boulder conference center hotel.

The Limelight Boulder, which is being built in the northwest corner of Main Campus, is expected to open in fall 2025.

Key leaders in this development partnership, including CU Boulder Chancellor Justin Schwartz, gave remarks, sharing thanks to all those involved and the local community for their support.

“Although the project is not yet complete, I’m eagerly anticipating Limelight Boulder becoming a focal point of the local landscape—a connection point and a place of community for CU affiliates, Colorado visitors and Boulder residents,” Schwartz said.

The represents a tremendous opportunity for the community and the university, including as an anticipated site for prominent academic and research conferences.

“This hotel is a reflection of our values—namely taking the long-viewpursuit of excellence and honoring people and place,” Aspen Hospitality’s Senior Vice President of Investments Andy Reed said. “Our values align so well with our partners at the University of Colorado and the city of Boulder, as it will be a global model for sustainable construction and a hub for gathering, learning and the exchange of ideas. We’re so excited to be welcomed into the community”

The Limelight Boulder will be all-electric and LEED Gold certified. Electric vehicle charging stations will be available in addition to recycling and compost programs and a community fund that will support local environmental, educational and community nonprofits.

The Limelight Hotel Boulder will include 250 rooms, along with a ground-floor restaurant and an outdoor plaza that are both envisioned to be public gathering spots for the local community.

With over 25,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space, the hotel will be the destination for best-in-class events and experiences for the university, research, business, weddings, and local nonprofit communities.
