An initiative launched last fall to improve students' campus experiences, this self-study and improvement-planning process represents a partnership among several units and has involved over 100 students, faculty and staff members.

The Space Utilization and Optimization Initiative will see three key milestones come to fruition over the coming weeks as part of the ongoing efforts to improve how CU Boulder manages space on campus to best support students and the university's mission of education and research.

A three-year process, Academic Futures in its first year asked the community to bring forth ideas, without constraints or resource concerns, about what CU Boulder might become and how we might transform teaching, learning, creative work and scholarship.

Provost Russell Moore has named Robert H. McDonald as dean of University Libraries. McDonald, currently the associate dean for research and technology strategies and a librarian at Indiana University, will start Aug. 1.
